BSc Medicine
Faculty Council UMCG, Panacea
Hello, I am Ivar Kuper, currently in my second year of the Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and active in the honours program. As a medical student, I realize the crucial role of health every day.
I advocate for more attention to both mental and physical health of students at our university. There should also be sufficient attention for neurodiversity.
My aim is to ensure equal opportunities for everyone, to create a safe learning environment where everyone can develop, and to advocate for sustainability.
Vote for me for a university where health, equality, safety, and sustainability are central!
BA Minorities & Multilinguism
Letteren Vooruit Faculty Council of Arts, Multi
Hi! My name is Lara, I am 23 and I am a second year Minorities & Multilingualism BA student. I am currently the Vice-Chair & PR Officer of Lettern Vooruit, the student party of the Faculty of Arts Council. During my council year, I learnt a lot not only from others, but also about myself, my capabilities and the importance of my voice as a student here. Working with fellow students, and staff, who are passionate and innovative about student matters within this university, such as higher quality education, student well-being and developing accessible internatiolisation policies, has been one of my favourite parts of studying here at the RUG. When I started my year in Faculty Council, I knew I wanted to aim for University Council the following year. Lijst Calimero was just the place for that. I ensured my voice was heard, and we can ensure yours will be too.
BSc Spatial Planning & Design, BA Philosophy of a Specific Discipline
Pro Geo, Faculty Council of Spatial Sciences
Hey everyone! I’m Jovan and I am a 22-year-old Spatial Planning and Design and Philosophy of Social Sciences student. I am running for university council because it is crucial to me that students’ voices are heard and their visions are realised. I believe our university should involve students in every decision-making process on changes which concern them and increase awareness of developments behind the scenes.
To achieve this, I am joining Lijst Calimero in the upcoming academic year in their effort to ensure a good quality of education and critical student representation. Lijst Calimero’s mission is close to my heart and I find it important that students get their tuition fee’s worth when it comes to education.
Throughout my bachelor’s I have had various opportunities to represent students – most recently in the Faculty of Spatial Sciences’ faculty council and the programme committee of the Honours College. I have experienced first-hand that only active engagement and a critical mindset can result in actual change. I believe that through advocacy and collaboration, we can create a transparent and inclusive university. That is why I am running for university council.
Want to support us in our cause? Vote for Lijst Calimero!
BSc Liberal Arts & Sciences
Faculty Council UCG, UCGMUN
I am Dina and I am currently studying Liberal arts and sciences at UCG. I was previously a member of the UCG Faculty Council and during my time there I followed up on all of my campaign promises from better communication to more academic extracurriculars. I intend to keep the following promises as a University Council member;
Since the university’s decision-making process and the policies that come from it are usually not well communicated to the students, In my time as a student member of the university council, I want to ensure better communication between the university and the students as they should be the centre of all policies.
Moreover, ensure a better quality of education as it should be the key objective of a university. This will be done through further implementing the smaller-scale education initiative, giving students the ability to further engage themselves in their studies.
Lastly, I want to ensure that the university has regulations for partnerships making it key to not partner with countries or businesses that are at the centre of controversy.
LLB International and European Law
Coordinator Internal Affairs Nexus
My name is Maria Ptaszek and I study International and European Law. I’m from Poland, however I spent most of my life living abroad in; Serbia, Ukraine and Georgia. You might know me from my board year at the Nexus Student Association. I am very excited to announce that I’m running as number 5 on the 20th Faction of Lijst Calimero, for University Council.
I believe that the multifaceted topic of education, is a crucial aspect of the student experience. Therefore, I wish to provide a voice for both Dutch and International students and represent them. I want to improve the day-to-day lives of students. Among others, I wish to advocate for improving and making the communication within the University more transparent. For example, regarding the opportunities available to students regrading their studies.
BSc Psychology, BA Philosophy of a Specific Discipline
Faculty Council BSS, PSB, PC Philosophy
My name is Chris, I’m 21 years old, and I’m doing a double degree in Psychology and Philosophy of Cognitive Sciences. This past year I’ve also had the pleasure of being a member of the Faculty Council at Behavioral and Social Sciences, as well as a member of the Programme Committee at the Philosophy
My experience in these positions has taught me just how important it is to stand up for the interests of students, so their voices can be represented in the often difficult-to-navigate politics of our university. I can think of no better way to continue doing this than by joining the University Council, and I can think of no better party to represent there than Lijst Calimero.
As a member of Lijst Calimero, I would like to keep advocating for the ideals that attracted me to the party in the first place – quality of education, student well-being and inclusivity. I will do this by campaigning for a socially responsible university where every student is properly prepared for a successful future.
Do you want bold and outspoken student representation that has your best interest in mind? Then vote Lijst Calimero!
LLB International and European Law
Vice President ACSA, DSLA
My name is Rita Sebti, I am 20 years old and in my third year of International and European Law. I have noticed that many of the students around me experience the same type of problems; especially, a high pressure on academic performance. That is why I want to be part of shaping a University that prioritises student wellbeing while maintaining its high quality of education. That is also why I chose to run for Lijst Calimero.
Next year, I’ll wish to be the bridge between not only dutch students but also internationals and the University, mainly in the approaching possibility of a transition with the proposed Internalisation Bill. Those same students I met through my experience in the Board of ACSA and in DSLA, that enforced my convictions in improving Our University.
Vote Lijst Calimero, vote for improvement!
