As University Council party, we have the right of initiative to propose UG policies. We do this by writing memo’s and asking round the table questions during the Univeristy Council.
Usually, we propose policies by writing memo’s. The board of directors has three months to provide a written response to such memo’s. In the past, we handed in memo’s regarding the professionalising of program committees, the founding of the Young Alumni Network, online open days and the access policy of the university library.
A round the table question is meant to ask about the current situation on a topic that was not on the agenda for that University Council meeting. They can also be used to propose small policy initiatives. Examples are our questions about the transaction costs for uploading money on your UG-pass, standard exams on Nestor and the capacity problems of language courses.
