Last month the new law regarding university governance (Wet Versterking bestuurskracht, WVb) and its consequences for the University of Groningen were discussed during the University Council meeting. In reaction to this, Lijst Calimero wrote a memo to help the University of Groningen implement the new law in a successful way. The most important change is the more important role of Programme Committees. Over the past months, Lijst Calimero has performed a research to find out how Programme Committees are functioning at the moment. The result of this study was that they need to be professionalized. Therefore, in our memo, we propose several ways to improve the visibility, accessibility, knowledge, selection and control of Programme Committees.<\/p>\n
