Dear students,
My name is Hanne Oelen, I am 21 years old and currently finishing my bachelor Economics & Business Economics. Next to my studies, I am in the Audit Committee of A.S.V. Dizkartes, I play a lot of sports and I have a job. Next year I would like to represent you as a fraction member for Lijst Calimero in the University Council. In particular, I want to dedicate myself to ensure that students can remain active next to their studies and have more options to specialise within their study program. In recent years, it has become less attractive to be active next to your studies because of the changing study climate. This is a regrettable development, since you gain a lot of valuable experience when starting your own company or doing a board year, in example. A board year without tuition fees, an official regocnition for board members, and flexible schedules for entrepreneurs are a step in the right direction. Within the study program, I plead for more flexibility to follow extra courses within your faculty or to choose a specialisation. You get most out of your studies when you’re following the courses that you find most interesting.
Don’t you want to define how your study program and student life take shape? Vote for Lijst Calimero if you think flexibility and self development should go hand in hand with high quality education. Quality is a choice: vote Lijst Calimero!
