My name is Léon Melein. Im 21 years old and I am currently finishing my Information Science bachelor. I have pushed for good education ever since I started studying. First in the education committee, later in the faculty council, and now at Lijst Calimero. Furthermore, I am active for my study association.

Lijst Calimero highly values quality of education, and so do I. Excellent small scale education forms the foundation of this. An environment in which you can actively participate as a student, instead of being treated like a number, in which there is time for a teacher to answer your questions, or give you some additional explanation. Time, in which there are opportunities to elaborate and discuss on what you have learned.

Learning Communities are a first step towards smaller scale education. These communities are an adequate development, but they should not be too strict for students. They should not lead to an increase of the binding study advice (BSA). Intrinsic motivation of students has to be the top priority. Students should also get the chance to develop themselves further, besides their study.

Small scale education is more than just a community, however. Sufficient teachers and rooms are needed to make sure we can accommodate several smaller groups, rather than just one large one.

Together with Lijst Calimero I am committed to good, small scale education. Do you consider good education important too? Choose quality. Choose Calimero!
