More introduction activities for international students in August

Great news for prospective international students! Thanks to the UG, the KEI and ESN Groningen, from the summer of 2018 onwards, more activities for international students will be organized during the KEI-week and the two weeks before the start of the academic year!

Upon initiative of ESN Groningen, a new committee will develop a plan in which the KEI-week will become more accessible to international students and in which more activities will be organized for international students in the subsequent two weeks. At the moment, international students who join the KEI-week are experiencing a gap between the KEI-week and the start of the academic year. Few introduction activities are organized in these two weeks, while there are more of such activities for Dutch students such as at the student associations.

Moreover, the KEI-week will not be shifted, as was previously a topic of debate. Shifting the KEI-week closer to September would conflict with other festivities such as Noorderzon and Bommen Berend, and was therefore not possible.

We think that with these initiatives, prospective international students will feel more welcome when coming to Groningen and we think that these initiatives will improve the inclusion of international students to our student community. Therefore, Lijst Calimero greatly supports this initiative!
