Evening and Weekend Exams

Question, November 2017

Due to the lack of room, more and more exams are scheduled during the evenings and weekends. We therefore asked the board of directors whether or not they agree with us that it is unfortunate to have exams in the evening and the weekend. In our opinion, students should have the evening and weekend for themselves to plan other activities or get rest, in order to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Unfortunately, the board didn’t acknowledge the importance of the matter.

Last week, we tried to address the matter again in the University Council. The board has tried to make faculties use shorter time slots. However, the faculties refused to implement this. The board is now exploring the opportunity to get programs to spread exams over the whole duration of the course, so that there isn’t such a peak moment of exams in the exam period.
