There are many different ways to enjoy your time as a student in Groningen. But we all have one thing in common: when we graduate, we want to do this with a valuable diploma in our pocket. A diploma that will open up doors and will help us to achieve our dreams.

The value of your diploma is determined by the quality of education at the University of Groningen. For the past 12 years, Lijst Calimero has been committed to the further improvement of education at our university. In our opinion, high quality education is education that prepares students for their future, puts the individual student at the center of attention, and takes place in a healthy study environment. The quality of education is determined by three important factors: the content of education, the structure of education, and the study environment. Or in other words: what we study, how we study, and where we study.

In the past years, Lijst Calimero has been committed to develop those three elements in the best way possible for students at our university. We have a clearly formulated vision on education in which the student should be in the focus. We have the needs of all students at heart. On the level of the University Council we participate in the decision-making on broader matters that concern the entire University. With our clear vision on education we try to guide developments in higher education. That requires us to constructively and critically look at those broader developments, but sometimes we also tackle smaller, and more practical issues.

The past years have been proof that we can achieve a lot by being constructive and, when necessary, critical. We are able to influence university policies directly by being in contact with the people that are responsible for educational policies at our university. Decision at the University are made in cooperation between people within the University and the student community. We dare to be critical.

This election program will present our vision on education and how Lijst Calimero aims to improve the quality of education at our university and thereby enhance the value of your diploma. Your future is our priority. In order to represent your interest as a student we need your vote during this year’s elections. Quality is a choice. So make yours, choose Lijst Calimero.
